Why has it taken so long for Central to open its first organic health cafe? After all, Lamma has been home to the Bookworm Cafe for at least seven years.

But for urban health freaks who think Lamma is just a tad too far, there is a place opening beside the Mid-Levels escalator, facing the giant fish bowl of Pure Fitness.

Life Cafe promises a nice ambience and good vegan home-style food, although my mother has never even heard of organic. In addition to good grub, it will have the sounds of world music and the smell of incense.
