Brett Williams

Vice-president, debt market research, Asia

ING Financial Markets

Mr Williams will cover financial institutions and will report to Tim Condon, head of financial markets research, Asia. Before joining ING, Mr Williams was vice-president, credit risk management, at Credit Suisse First Boston for three years, where he was responsible for analysing and rating a portfolio of Asian financial institutions. This coverage extended over 17 sovereign jurisdictions and 250 companies and provided information to the bank to support research views as well as transactions for the bank. Before he joined Credit Suisse First Boston, Mr Williams was at Thomson Financial BankWatch Asia and a bank analyst at Capital Intelligence, both in Hong Kong.

Stephen Chow

Before his new appointment, Mr Chow was assistant food and beverage manager at The Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel. He has more than 17 years' experience in the industry, and was part of the opening team of a restaurant for Harbour Castle Westin Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

Michael Mudd

Director of public policy, Asia-Pacific

Mr Mudd has responsibility for establishing and running CompTIA's public policy initiatives for the region, encompassing Japan to Australia and China to India. Before joining CompTIA, Mr Mudd was a senior manager, global product management group, for Standard Chartered Bank, based in Hong Kong. He was responsible for developing corporate accounts for the bank's award-winning online/e-commerce software services for trade (B2BeX), and for managing the programme in 14 countries throughout Asia. Prior to this, he was the commercial director for the Noble Group, Asia's largest trader of physical commodities outside of Japan, and a senior manager in the media industry, establishing operations from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms Moran, who is fluent in Japanese, specialises in structured finance and derivatives transactions, including repackaging, securitisation, collateralised debt obligations and credit derivatives. Her recent experience includes advising the arranger in relation to the securitisation of Japanese shopping credit receivables and in relation to synthetic collateralised debt obligations transactions.

Mr Su's practice focuses on patent procurement, licensing, technology transactions and value-added intellectual property portfolio management. Building on his background in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Cornell University in the United States, and his years at Intel, Mr Su is well equipped to offer technical and legal advice on a wide array of IP matters in the region. Before joining Jones Day, Mr Su worked for a leading US law firm in Silicon Valley, advising clients on IP-related issues. As a former member of Intel's legal department, Mr Su has extensive experience writing and prosecuting patent applications, managing and evaluating patent portfolios, and performing offensive and defensive infringement.

Matthias Roeke

Mr Roeke will oversee operations at the recently renovated five-star hotel. Before joining Kowloon Shangri-La, Mr Roeke was the executive assistant manager of the InterContinental Bangkok. With more than 15 years' experience in the hospitality industry, Mr Roeke is well versed in hotel management, especially in food and beverages and opening new hotels. He has been involved in the opening of a number of five-star hotels, including the InterContinental Mumbai and the Crown Plaza Hotel in Shenzhen, where he held various executive positions. He has also worked in Singapore and South Africa.

Adrian New

Senior vice-president, advertising sales and marketing

Mr New brings with him 16 years of management and marketing experience. He will be responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing advertising sales and marketing strategies undertaken by each of CNBC's seven regional services in Asia. Before joining CNBC Asia Pacific, he served as president of sponsorship consultancy Red Mandarin Asia Pacific. He was responsible for starting up and running Red Mandarin's Asia-Pacific office, and established retainer relationships with Nokia, Visa, Allied Domecq and Singapore Pools. Before that, he held senior management appointments at Visa International in Britain.
