Daswani delivers the write stuff

Kavita Daswani, Los Angeles-based fashion and entertainment writer for the Post, has announced the release of her second novel. Her first, last year's international best-seller For Matrimonial Purposes, was inspired by Hong Kong's Indian community, which pressured her to give up her career as the Post's fashion editor and get married.

Now that she has a husband and son, Daswani's new novel will tell of an Indian woman who balances her arranged marriage with life as a journalist at a magazine in LA.

'I used some of my experiences covering Hollywood for the Post, and tied into it being a newlywed in a new country,' Daswani told Cityseen.

Out in July, the US edition of the HarperCollins novel will be called The Village Bride of Beverly Hills, while the British title will be Everything Happens For A Reason.
