MULTIMEDIA DANCE THEATRE
Local contemporary dance group DanceArt presents the multimedia dance Children's Prayers to express concern about children living in adverse conditions.
Directed by Terence Chang and choreographed by Andy Wong, the performance includes artists from fields such as dance, drama, music, visual arts and literature.
The story is about children around the world who are suffering from war, poverty and disease.
The performances will be at 8pm tomorrow and Saturday, with a matinee at 3pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $130 and $90, with half-price concessions for students, through Urbtix at 2734 9009.
Indie trio In Love will perform at local bookshops to promote their new release Demitint.
The first gig is at Kubrick (102, Olympian City 2, West Kowloon) on Saturday, while the second is at Mackie Study (Flat 2A, 52 Yun Ping Rd, Causeway Bay) on Sunday. Both gigs start at 5.30pm. Admission is free. For details call 2396 2608.
More than 120 colourful big Buddy Bears will be on display from Saturday to June 27 at Victoria Park's Central Lawn.
The bears were painted by artists from several countries and each Buddy Bear is unique. They are here to spread the message of love and understanding among nations, and to promote public arts in Hong Kong.
A storybook design competition and workshops will also be held. Souvenirs will be on sale at the showground.
Proceeds will go to the Community Chest of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Committee for United Nations Children's Fund and the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation.
