AC Milan scores own chef

Kelvin Chan

Italian football champions AC Milan are scheduled to jet into town today for a match against Kitchee this weekend, and CitySeen hears they are travelling with what may be the ultimate accessory: their own chef.

The team is bringing the chef, who also works for the team owner, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, because footballers these days must stick to very specific and healthy diets, says Brian Catton, a spokesman for the event's promoters, KCE Sport and Entertainment.

'It demonstrates the seriousness with which they tour,' Mr Catton says. 'Diet plays such an important part in a footballer's life.' The team, winners of the Serie A championship, is set to arrive at 10.40am, and will hold a press conference at the Island Shangri-La in the afternoon. They'll practise tomorrow morning before their match on Sunday night and then head to Shanghai.
