Milan visit to hospital is 'un-Real'

Children at the United Christian Hospital were treated to a lightning visit from AC Milan players yesterday, but many were Real Madrid fans and did not know the stars' names.

Goalkeeper Valerio Fiori, defender Alessandro Costacurta and midfielder Massimo Ambrosini gave the children autographed posters, Italian flags and the team's souvenir key chains and pins.

AC Milan will play Kitchee in a friendly at Hong Kong Stadium tonight. Proceeds of the match and an auction last night will go to the United Christian Hospital to help pay for a lift tower to house four new lifts.

Eight-year-old Iain Ng Chi-fung, who sported an AC Milan jersey his father had bought for him before the players' arrived, was the lucky one who received a silver football autographed by the team's players.

But it was a puzzle trying to figure out the names on the ball.

Lai Chuen-chi, 14, said it was still a thrill for him to meet football stars for the first time in his life.

Ambrosini said he was happy to have the chance to meet the children. 'This is important,' he said.
