Name your favourite band or singer

Kenneth Chuk, 16

John Denver is my favourite. My dad gave me an album a few years ago and I immediately went crazy over his songs. Leaving on a Jet Plane, Annie's Song and Old Guitar are just incredible. The guitar music and the lyrics are all so well written.

Ivy Wu, 19

My favourite band is Bond. Bond consists of four beautiful and energetic violinists. Apart from playing songs with fast melodies, they also dance violently on the stage to match the music. My favourite song is Victory. I like this band so much as I like listening to the sound of the violin.

Gigi Chung, 18

LMF, who have disbanded already. Although their songs are criticised for the use of bad language and portrayal of violence, they really speak for us. Listening to them is a good way to channel our stress and emotions, especially when we are hard hit by the economic downturn.

Suzanna Wong, 18

I have many, but my favourites are Broadcast from England and Dylnn Art from Hong Kong. Both groups do mixing. Broadcast's music is '70s funky style. Their music, rhythm, way of singing and even music videos are very '70s. Dylnn Art is a local group which does cutie pop mixing. Their rhythms are kind of dreamy, and the vocals are unique - that cute voice cannot be found anywhere else.

Junius Leung, 18

My favourite band is Westlife. They are a band that is very popular all over the world. I like them not just because they are handsome young guys, but also because their songs impress me a lot. Whenever I listen to their songs, my troubles will be gone.

Angie Chan, 15

For those who love the guitar, I'm sure Chet Lam is one of your favourites. I fell in love with his music when I first heard his song The Best is Yet to Come on the radio. His songs are original, expressive and soothing - a great relief from city stress.

Jeanie Lai, 18

I don't really have a favourite singer - any inspirational songs are appealing, as they can really brighten up a gloomy day. Under the Lion Rock takes us through the development of Hong Kong, and reminds us that there's always a silver lining. Hong Kong people together - let's brighten the future!Tom Chan, 15

The band HIM (His Infernal Majesty) is unique. In a way, their music is very gothic with a hint of love ballads. Another good band is Big Sugar. This band is completely different. Their music is more bluesy metal.

Kerry Ng, 16

Avril Lavigne and Andrea Bocelli. When I first listened to Avril's song, Complicated, I thought the lyrics really expressed the feelings of teenagers nowadays. If you just take a glance at Bocelli, you will think he is a normal blind man when, in fact, he's a talented musician with an amazing voice. So don't judge people by their appearance but instead by their real talent.
