The pioneering force behind Lan Kwai Fong has been awarded a doctorate degree.

The University of Western Ontario in Canada has bestowed Allan Zeman with an honorary degree, making him the second person to receive this honour in Hong Kong (Henry Cheng Kar-shun, managing director of New World Development was the first).

Kathleen Slaughter from the Hong Kong campus of the Richard Ivey School of Business says: 'An LLD [Doctor of Laws] is to honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to a certain field; in Allan Zeman's case, it is the field of business. Through his business leadership, innovative pursuits and community involvement, he has become a highly visible symbol of the entrepreneurial leadership that Canadians can achieve internationally.'
