Firemen free girl made to stay home

A 10-year-old girl is escorted from her home by a social worker after her rescue from more than five weeks of home confinement by her mentally unstable mother.


The girl is now with relatives after firemen took her from her mother's flat in Ngau Tau Kok late on Monday night. They broke down the door after two hours of negotiations with the mother failed. The mother was being treated in an Eastern Hospital psychiatric ward yesterday.
