Mainlander jailed for twin robbery attempts


A mainlander who sneaked into Hong Kong to commit crime was jailed for three years and four months after he tried to rob two people - including one he hit with a rock. Ah Ho Ho Mo, 22, pleaded guilty in the Court of First Instance to one charge of robbery and one of assault with intent to rob in the incidents on December 17 last year. Ah was jailed for one year and eight months for robbery, and two years and eight months for assault. The judge ordered the second sentence to start eight months into the first term, giving a total jail time of three years and four months.


three hurt in crash in cross-harbour tunnel


An off-duty policeman and two other men were injured when his car collided with a goods van in the Cross-Harbour Tunnel. The constable, 28, reportedly lost control of his car, which crossed lanes and hit the van. The three were treated in Eastern Hospital.
