Exhibitors at Asia's Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair have their own ideas on trends, departing slightly from those identified by major components and parts supplier Swarovski.

Po Sing Imitation Jewellery Manufactory came up with its own five themes for the fair - namely Manipulated, Improvised, Rhythmic, Smooth and Attitude.

Manipulated uses 'engraved and etched geometric metal in [a] modern industry iron-look, using dark and cool colour stones mixed with materials like leather, satin and black nickel plating', said Po Sing deputy general manager Benson Lau.

The Improvised look features engraved metal with animal prints or botanical style, using warm- coloured stones with leather, shell or shell beads with burnish plating.

The Rhythmic style uses monolithic components with light and dark contrast, making use of aurora borealis stones.

The Smooth look is playful, colourful and creative, making use of polyresin, plastic and glass beads, PVC, cotton knits and enamel.

Attitude is vintage, elegant and Art Deco in style, using glass and pearlised beads, lace and opal stone in black and white and pastel colours.

Exhibitor Oriole Ornament's main theme this year is 'Feminine Dream in vintage style'. Manager Cammie Lau said darker colours such as red, orange, black and grey, and new materials such as glass pearl, beads and acrylic would be used in addition to the traditional metals and crystals.
