Shanghai stays ahead

Container throughput at the port of Shanghai reached 6.75 million teu (20-ft equivalent units) in the first half of the year, an increase of 29.4 per cent over last year, according to the website, Chinese Shipping. That volume kept Shanghai ahead of the port complex at Shenzhen, which moved more than 6.05 million boxes across its docks in the first half, up 31.6 per cent on last year.
