Web of charity

If you've seen Spider-Man 2 you'll know it's not just a summer action flick, it's also about a young man struggling with greatness.

The recent charity premiere was a fine choice for The Dragon Foundation, established in 2000 to help a young generation develop leadership skills, work together in community building, develop their potential and succeed.

Superstar Leon Lai Ming gave his fans exactly what they needed when he zoomed up to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in a Spidey-themed Lamborghini.

The crowds made it difficult for Lai to leave his vehicle, but with some huffing and puffing, he made it to the event safely.

Someone yelled: 'You need to spin a web and swing yourself outta there.'

Slipping in for the event were former actresses Lelia Chow Mei-fung and Fione Yip Sze-pui. Celebrities Kai-bong and Brenda Chau were captivating in matching Spidey tunics and bug-eyed specs.

Local superheroes, fundraiser Wilfred Ng and Secretary for Home Affairs Patrick Ho Chi-ping, presented a cheque for $500,000 to the foundation's chairman, Sir Ti Liang Yang.
