THE Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes are two years old. It must be said without a moment's hesitation that the event is a most welcome addition to the local sporting calendar.

With some of the world's greatest players performing in front of a cheerful crowd at a delightful venue - which cricket fan could ask for more? It gets better. Hong Kong's Dermot Reeve was the hero of the hour as England pulled off a rare sporting triumph.

While the format may have a few traditionalists spluttering into their drinks, it would be churlish to criticise. We would like to congratulate the organisers, players and sponsors for an excellent two days of entertainment. Roll on next year.
