GUANGZHOU Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Co (GAMECO) has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for maintenance checks on the Boeing 757 with Rolls-Royce RB211 engines.

  GAMECO is now FAA certified on the Boeing 737, 767 and 757.

  Guangzhou-based China Southern, a GAMECO shareholder, has 15 B757s with another seven due to arrive in the next 12 months.

  Bob Menke, GAMECO general manager, said: ''China's airline industry is booming, airports are being built, new planes are being bought. But to sustain China's rapid growth in aviation, maintenance must keep pace.''
