The Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association is organising the Watson's Pharmacy Self Care Cross-Country Championships and Relay 2004.

The championships will be held on September 26 at Hok Tau Reservoir in Fan Ling; followed by the relay on October 31 at Tai Tong, in Yuen Long. Urban runners will be rewarded by rice fields, scenic views of the Pat Sin Leng range and sweet fresh air impossible to find in the concrete jungle.

The association will host a running clinic on Sunday for anyone interested in learning more about running strategies, medication and sports psychology - which might prove handy during the championships. Runner and coach Lee Kar-lun will talk about running techniques, while sports psychologist Polina Cheng will demonstrate diaphragmatic breathing and progressive muscular relaxation. The entry deadline is September 12 for the championships and October 14 for the relay. To find out more, visit
