A top job tailor-made for people with a strong competitive streak and an unbeatable work ethic has come up at a renowned international fitness group.

California Fitness is looking for a trainee club general manager to join its Hong Kong team.

Part of an international chain of fitness centres with more than 300 clubs, the group is affiliated with more than 6,500 International Healthclub, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) clubs across the globe and 'introduces to the world a first-class, five-star fitness experience', human resources manager Connie Cheung said.

The name of this game was to 'maximise club sales revenue for California Fitness through the hiring, training and management of the sales team, as well as through personal sales', Ms Cheung said.

Whoever takes the role should have three to five years' sales experience within the retail industry, especially in 'managing and leading a sales team to achieve production targets'.

To beat the opposition, you need excellent strategic and analytical skills, and a track record that shows you can consistently deliver results that hit their mark.

Candidates should also have a distinctly upbeat approach to life and wield the power to influence a professional audience.

The future club general manager can look forward to professional sales management and leadership skills training at California Fitness.

As a result, passion, get-up-and-go and the drive to push yourself onwards and upwards are vital.

'The person must be energetic, with a positive attitude, and constantly striving for self-improvement,' Ms Cheung said.

Certainly, the only way is up. Ms Cheung said, 'This position may lead the candidate to unlimited promotion opportunities.'
