arts academy appoints director

Professor Kevin Thompson, former principal and chief executive of Dartington College of Arts, England, has taken up the position of director of the Academy for Performing Arts, replacing Professor Lo King-man. A conductor, composer, and trumpeter, Professor Thompson was appointed principal of the Birmingham Conservatoire on inauguration of the new Conservatoire, before joining Dartington.

Asian Christian theologians or scholars in social sciences or humanities are invited to apply for the second institute for advanced study in Asian cultures and theologians to be held from June 11 to July 23 next year by the Asian Christian Higher Education Institute based at Baptist University. invitation to learn nature of the feast

Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management will launch a four-week boutique banqueting course next month on how to present a culinary feast. Classes will be held on Saturday afternoons, at a cost of $4,000. Fees include uniform, tools, food materials, course materials, and a four-course dinner for the participants and their guests. Time to Recycle, an offshoot of the charity Able, is looking for schools that would like to offer new homes for 13 paper recycling bins which it has to remove from the Outlying Islands ferry piers area.
