Murphy targets treble hope

Robin Parke

FORMER Hong Kong star Declan Murphy has fallen foul of the Taipa stipendiary stewards and starts a two-meeting suspension after today's 10-race programme in Macau.

It's a blow to the Irish-American who has added a distinct touch of class to proceedings at Taipa since moving there at the end of his five-year Hong Kong stint last season - but he can sign off temporarily on a high note today.

Murphy could ride a treble and if trainer-brother Joe has done his part then Our Target (Nap) looks a good thing in the third event.

Our Target faces 1,800 metres first-up but he is graded to win on his best form of early last season. He has plummeted down the ratings to be very advantageously placed.

Departing trainer Claude Charlet should provide the quinella with Kingsway.

The Murphy brothers can strike with Blazing Pegasus in the sixth event and wrap up a good day's work with Love Speeder in the final race.
