Top technician invited to join the country club

An opening has arisen for technicians who are not afraid to get their hands dirty in the course of their work, but are equally happy to meticulously maintain records or lead a small team.

One of the most comprehensive private clubs in Asia is seeking a high-calibre technician to join its team.

Spread over 121.4 hectares, with 3,000 members, the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, Hong Kong, offers its members the use not only of a golf and country club, but also a marina - all of which boast top recreation and dining facilities, operated by dedicated professionals.

Potential applicants should bear in mind that the primary role of the successful candidate will be to oversee the maintenance of a reverse osmosis water plant, sea desalination, and the golf course irrigation pumping system.

Additional responsibilities include programming preventive maintenance programmes, repairing systems when required, and supervising one to two staff members.

With this in mind, the club demands someone who is motivated, energetic and responsible.

Other attributes include a university diploma and, ideally, at least two to three years of experience working on pumping systems.

An active understanding of electrical systems is an advantage, while experience as a marine merchant helpful.

A good command of spoken and written English will be advantageous, as will personal computer skills.

To carry out this job to the full, candidates must also be capable of maintaining precise maintenance records and be happy to implement preventive maintenance programmes.

The rewards for the above skills include career progression, attractive remuneration and associated benefits.

An added benefit will be the excitement of helping a dynamic team run a top-quality Hong Kong club.
