Anna's Ermenegildo Zegna will cut your coat to suit the cloth

CitySeen caught up with Anna Zegna of Ermenegildo Zegna as she was passing through Hong Kong on Monday. With six stores now operating in the city and another in Shanghai, she was all smiles.

'Hong Kong is such an international city and an important and evolving market for Zegna' she says. 'There is such a culmination of different styles and tastes here. Some people prefer traditional styles, whereas others might prefer made-to-measure. Even down to the fabric, people have different preferences. '

Zegna has also been busy with charitable projects. In China, it has just committed to supporting the World Wide Fund for Nature's Panda Conservation Project for three years.

When asked about the face of Ermenegildo Zegna, Oscar-winner Adrian Brody, Anna says: 'He's such an authentic, genuine guy with an amazing talent. On the day that Adrian found out he was nominated for best actor, he called me, ecstatic, and asked if I could dress him for the night.'

When Brody scooped the coveted award, he was impeccably groomed, wearing a midnight-blue Zegna suit and signature Zegna twin tie. Zegna herself is exceptionally well-dressed, combining different labels to complete her look.

'I love the cut of D&G jackets,' she says, 'They really flatter the female figure. And since Ermenegildo Zegna makes menswear only, I sometimes choose the fabric and have something made in a more feminine cut.'

Well, that's okay if your last name is Zegna. For the rest of us women, we'll just have to admire the clothes on our men.
