Champagne for the city's finest

Hong Kong's love for good food and excellent champagne makes it the perfect city to host an exclusive event, according to Veuve Clicquot. That's why it was chosen to launch Veuve's new Vintages.

The creme de la creme of Hong Kong's stars and socialites congregated at Plateau in the Grand Hyatt on Friday to celebrate the release of the Veuve Clicquot 1998 Vintages. They included Maggie Q, Gilbert Yeung, Cecil Chao Sze-tsung, Aron Harilela, Harry Harninand, Annabel Bond, Daniel Fung Wah-kin, and Sherylin Fung, Anil Melwani and Bonnie Gokson.

The female presence at the dinner was significant as the champagne was pioneered by a young widow - and veuve means widow in French.

On Saturday, a group of the women were invited to Gaia restaurant in Central to celebrate the female legacy on the champagne house.
