Golden diving couple resurface in Macau

Are they or aren't they? Rumours about China's diving sensations and Olympic medallists Guo Jingjing and Tian Liang have been flying like backward triple somersault tucks since they left the swimming pools for the ballrooms. Just who Guo's heart belongs to has been the subject of much speculation recently.

There were rumours that she had a 'special relationship' with Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, grandson of tycoon Henry Fok Ying-tung, after photos surfaced of the two in Shanghai Club 97 karaoke bar after the Formula One grand prix.

Guo turned to the state media, Xinhua News agency, to quash the rumours, but reports persisted that her relationship with Tian was in crisis.

Things only got more confusing when Guo was sighted celebrating her 24th birthday last week by spending the night at Tian's house in Chongqing.

The pair was last spotted in Macau on Tuesday as guests of casino magnate Stanley Ho Hung-sun and his wife, Angela Leung On-kei, at one of his hotel casinos.

As usual, they refused to comment on the nature of their relationship, but the loving sparkle in Tian's eye as he stole frequent and furtive glances at the diving queen needed no words for observers.
