RUGBY EVENT

Hong Kong will host the 19th Asian Rugby Football Tournament this month. The competition, which starts tomorrow and runs until October 31, brings together 14 Asian teams, including China, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

The first game is between Sri Lanka and Pakistan today at 6pm, with the final scheduled for October 31 at 6.30pm. All matches will be held at King's Park, Ho Man Tin, and Hong Kong Football Club at Happy Valley. Entry is free. For more information, visit www.hkrugby.com

CANTONESE SATIRE

Pop idol Gigi Leung Wing-kei teams up with veteran comedian Jim Chim and Taiwanese actor Chen Li-hua in The Great Entertainer, which will be staged from Friday to Sunday at 8pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Directed by Edward Lam and Mathias Woo, the satire focuses on bizarre events in the local showbiz scene. Tickets at $280, $220, $160 and $100 (half-price for students) are available from Urbtix at 2734 9009.

HANDBELL CONCERT

Local handbell group 17 Ringers from Gloves will perform a wide range of music, including jazz, classical, swing and folk, at a concert this week.

Handbell: Motion & Emotion will be conducted by Emily Li Kit-yiu.

The concert will be staged on Friday and Saturday at 8pm at the Fringe Club's Fringe Studio. Tickets at $150 (non-members) and $120 (members) are available from HK Ticketing at 31 288 288.
