An open book

Arguably one of the most influential fashion designers of the past decade, American Tom Ford has come a long way since studying acting in the early 1980s. After giving luxe label Gucci a new lease on life and revitalising Yves Saint Laurent, Ford struck out on his own earlier this year, giving him time to immortalise himself in a new book, Tom Ford. The book covers Ford's work at Gucci and YSL and features larger visions of his ideas and designs spanning architecture, store design and advertising. With the forward by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, introduction by Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter and more than 300 images by super snappers such as Terry Richardson, Mario Testino and Richard Avedon, Ford proves he still packs a punch in the fashion world. The book is selling on amazon.com for US$85 and will be available on November 20.
