Funds unused

FUNDS approved by the Finance Committee for 13 public works projects in the past five years remain unused, according to the Secretary for the Treasury, Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.

Four were from the Environmental Protection Department and two from the Highways Department. The Architectural Services Department and the Territory Development Department took up three and four projects respectively.

Most projects were approved by the Finance Committee in 1992, but one was endorsed as early as 1988. Unused Funds for public works projects were normally re-allocated to new projects.
