Fishy tale makes a big splash
HOW churlish of some to pour cold water on the exciting news that a mermaid or two may have surfaced in Aberdeen.
Keeping Posted's consultant on maritime matters has confirmed that we are, indeed, now in the migratory season for mermaids.
Our expert tells us it is quite conceivable that some of these poor creatures might have found their way into Hong Kong's territorial waters and got entangled in some callous fisherman's tackle.
What's more, we have spoken to someone (a teetotaller, if you must know) who swears he saw a mermaid in the calm brown sea off Aberdeen while cruising along in a boat. And he has given us a vivid description of her beauty.
As for the mermaid's wondrous figure? According to what he told us it appears to be something like 36-23 and $15 per kilo.
