Updated at 5.08pm:
The government on Friday said details of the second batch of Hong Kong products subject zero import tariffs in China under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement were now available.
A Trade and Industry Department (TID) spokesman said: 'After manufacturers have started producing these goods, the TID and the Customs Department will conduct joint verifications and inform the mainland authorities.'
The spokesman said goods covered by the 529 mainland tariff codes would enjoy zero tariff status from January 1, 2005.
For the remaining 184 items produced in Hong Kong, the mainland would implement zero tariffs after confirmation that production of the goods had begun.
