Who is your hero?

I appreciate Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, who was born in Argentina in 1928. He worked hard to graduate from medical science in university. But instead of becoming a doctor, Guevara gave up a life of wealth and chose to live a hard life in developing countries, where he helped to fight revolutionary wars. In 1959, he joined a revolutionary organisation in Cuba that ended the corrupt dictatorship rule of Fulgencio Batista.
He also worked in Middle Africa to help promote freedom for slaves. He was only 39 when he was captured and executed. I think this type of hero truly deserves our admiration, instead of soldiers who are often portrayed as glorious figures in history books. Our world needs peace.

My hero is my mum because she is a very strong woman. Whenever anyone needs a hand, she tries her best to help. After my father died, she raised me and my brother all by herself, working three jobs to keep my brother and I in private schools. Despite the fact that my mum was almost never at home, she would always try to be a part of my school life by attending school meetings and plays. Looking back now, I can see that it was very hard for her. I would like to thank my mum for all that she has done. If I was her, I definitely would not have been able to do it.
