'I bought the stones [for the necklace] about two years ago from an Indian stone cutter and had them strung here in Hong Kong. They were originally made into one necklace but it turned out to be too heavy, so I had to divide them into two separate pieces.
The earrings I bought a few years ago at Merola, an antique vintage jewellery store on Fulham Road in London.
I used to wear costume jewellery years ago when I sourced costume jewellery for Lane Crawford, and when I saw these earrings I loved them because they were fun but didn't cost the earth. They are very unusual and the work is incredibly intricate, as they are handmade in Italy. I love the colour because they match my eyes.'
