Aberdeen storm PLA stronghold

Synovate HKCC/Aberdeen had a fruitful trip across the border yesterday when they beat Chubb PLA 52-25 in Guangzhou in the Securicor Hong Kong First Division.

At So Kon Po, Asahi Valley suffered a setback to their title hopes when they lost 13-10 to Kowloon, who went into the interval with a 6-0 lead after two Bruce Aitcheson penalties.

Last season's two Grand Championship finalists, CBRE Club and DeA Tigers, clashed for early-season honours and it was the home side Club who triumphed 29-5 at Sports Road. A try from Warrick Dent and four penalties from flyhalf David Wrigley helped set Club on their way with Alex Gibbs also scoring late in the game. League leaders Club remain unbeaten after three games.
