The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is offering a rare treat for poster lovers. More than 400 posters by artists from more than 40 countries will be on display in the second Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2004.
The works are presented in four categories: ideological, promotion of cultural events, commercial and advertising, and thematic - space.
The exhibition runs from tomorrow to June 27. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Free admission on Wednesdays. For more details, call 2180 8188.
A symposium will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm in the museum's theatre. Enrolment is free on a first-come-first-served basis.
POP STARS IN CONCERT
A star-studded pop concert featuring artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland will be held tomorrow and Sunday at 8.15pm at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The lineup includes pop stars Alan Tam, Cecilia Cheung, Hacken Lee and Kelly Chen, as well as young pianist Lang Lang.
Tickets cost $400, $300, $200, $100 and are available at HK Ticketing on 31 288 288.
A five-a-side football tournament will take place on Sunday from 9.30am to 4.30pm at Stanley Fort.
The event is part of Operation Santa Claus, an annual fund-raising campaign for local charities.
Up to 20 teams will take part in the tournament. Gus Caesar, former defender for Arsenal and ex-player/coach for local team Buler Rangers, will present the winners' trophy.
A children tournament will start at 12.15pm, followed by a variety of children activities such as face-painting and games.
Entry is free but HKID or passport is required for entry. All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Operation Santa Claus.
