Stars in the making play to packed audiences

Choreographer and leading actor Kin Chan (left and above left) got students dancing in the Youth Arts Festival's production of Footloose this week.

He is pictured with Gretchell Yaneza, 16, of Rosaryhill School, who has her eyes on Broadway after playing Ariel, the leading female. 'It feels so good. It has made me know where I want to go,' she said. 'I want a degree in science as a back-up and to go to Broadway.' Ryutaro Yanagita (above centre, and right, with Chan) is also ready to follow in the actor's footsteps. 'I really like acting, singing and dancing. I want to be an actor and singer,' said the 11-year-old King George V student.

They were among 50 students performing to packed audiences at the Arts Centre all week, with their last show tonight.
