Taxi driver dies after crashing into barrier
A taxi driver died after his cab slammed into the concrete barrier under a flyover in Shamshuipo. The cab crashed as driver Yip Kwok-chung, 47, turned onto Cheung Sha Wan Road from Maple Road. He was taken to Caritas Medical Centre where he was declared dead. No one else was hurt. Witnesses have been asked to call police on 2773 5220.
MTR service interrupted
Trains on the MTR's Tsuen Wan line operated at unusually long intervals for about 30 minutes in the morning after a Central-bound train failed to pick up signals at Lai King station. Normal service resumed at 8.40am.
Illegal workers arrested
Ten illegal workers from the mainland and their suspected employer were arrested when officers from the police, labour and immigration departments raided a waste-paper recycling plant in Kwu Tung in Sheung Shui.
