Leung reappointed

Executive Councillor Leung Chun-ying has been reappointed chairman of Lingnan University council for another three-year term. Another Exco member Bernard Charnwut Chan has been named deputy chairman.

Business and accountancy students at the University of Hong Kong have snapped up major prizes in the CPA Qualification Programme Case Analysis Competition 2004 organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. HKU teams took first and third prize. A Polytechnic University team was the first runner up.

The Heng Sang Bank Overseas Scholarship Scheme is open for applications for studies at top universities in the United States or Britain next year. At least three scholarships will be offered to Hong Kong students offered places in universities such as Harvard. Visit www.hangseng.com

jockeying for alumni

An alumni association will be set up for beneficiaries of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship Scheme, launched in 1998 with a $102 million budget for a period of 10 years to support local and non-local university students. About 140 students have benefited so far.
