TRICKS OF THE TRADE

The programme Tricky Wonderland features an exhibition and film screenings that unveil the secrets of special effects used in films.

The exhibition features nine types of optical illusions. Visitors will get hands-on experience in creating special effects. The film screenings include sci-fi/fantasy movies 2001: A Space Odyssey, Metropolis and Aliens, and local productions Ten Brothers, The Magic Cup and The Twins Effect.

The exhibition runs until March 6, while the film screenings will end on January 8. Tickets at $40 (adults) and $20 (students) are available from Urbtix on 2734 9009. Both activities are being held at the Hong Kong Film Archive.

ROAD JOURNEY

Not Only Long Hair, Not Only Ernesto Che Guevara is a road movie that documents the journey that 'Long Hair' Leung Kwok-hung and a group of college students took last year to trace the footsteps of Che Guevara. The month-long trip took them to Cuba, Argentina and Bolivia.

The film will be screened at the Hong Kong Arts Centre's Agnes b Cinema from today till December 19. Tickets at $50 (adults) and $30 (students) can be purchased from Urbtix.

BALLET SHOWCASE

DMR School of Ballet will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a double showcase on Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 2.30pm in the Drama Theatre of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
