Pui Ching, Pui Ying move to semi-finals

Pui Ching Middle School and Pui Ying College have booked a place in today's semi-finals of the All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Volleyball Tournament 2004-05.

Pui Ying, who finished fourth last year, defeated Wa Ying College 25-21, 28-26 in yesterday's quarter-finals at Tsing Yi Sports Centre.

Pui Ching, meanwhile, handed a 25-20, 25-19 defeat to Diocesan Boys' School - last year's second runners-up.

The other spots in the semis were to be decided between TWGH Lo Kon Ting Memorial College and Shek Lei Catholic Secondary School, and Jockey Club Ti-I College and defending champions PLK Tang Yuk Tien College.

In the girls' section, Lions College play St Stephen's Girls College today for a place in the finals.

The Lions defeated Heep Yunn School 25-21, 25-22, while St Stephen's beat South Tuen Mun Government Secondary School 25-16 in both sets.

In the second round on Tuesday, Pui Ying Secondary School beat Ho Fung College 25-18, 25-20; Wa Ying College beat Immaculate Heart of Mary College 20-25, 26-24, 15-13; TWGH Lo Kong Ting Memorial College beat Queen's College 25-23, 25-19; Shek Lei Catholic Secondary School beat New Method College 25-10, 25-8; Jockey Club Ti-I College beat Chinese Foundation Secondary School 25-20, 25-14; PLK Tang Yuk Tien College beat Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary School 25-18, 25-19. In the girls' section, St Stephen's Girls' College beat Holy Trinity College 25-16, 25-20; South Tuen Mun Government Secondary School beat New Method College 25-9, 25-12; CCC Ming Kei College beat PLK 1983 Board of Directors' College 25-23, 21-25, 15-12; Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran College beat HKTA Lee Heng Kwei Secondary School 26-24, 26-24; Pui Ching Middle School beat CCC Kei Long College 25-22, 25-16; Jockey Club Ti-I College beat Sacred Heart Canossian College 25-22, 17-25, 15-9.
