Go on, Bite the bullet

If you've crossed a few particularly nasty people and don't want to end up like this Macanese motorist in 1999 (below), perhaps you should have a talk to Steve Brisbane. His company, new to Hong Kong, offers peace of mind to those with a serious list of enemies - for a price. From $3 million to $50 million, depending on your package and car, he will bullet-proof your vehicle and make your ride safe against even a terrorist attack.

At the costliest end is the Total Protection Package, which includes 'run-flat tires' - even if slashed or spiked they keep going without skipping a beat - bullet-proof windows and headlights, and special armour to withstand a bomb under the car. According to Mr Brisbane, passengers would even survive a direct missile attack. 'If the car was hit by a missile the car will be destroyed,' says Mr Brisbane, 'but the cabin itself will stay intact and the people will be safe.'

So far, there have not been any buyers from Hong Kong, and although the Monaco-based company does not disclose the name of its clients, CitySeen did find out that US government agencies and Monaco's royal family are among its clients.

All vehicles are made to order in Monaco and protection kits are usually fitted on Maybachs and Bentleys. Mr Brisbane says the company's target market is the government and the seriously rich ... but he forgot those with crazy ex-spouses. For more information, e-mail righttrack@connectedgroup.com
