Cut-out guards on patrol
Life-sized cut-outs of security guards will be posted at 116 off-course betting branches of the Hong Kong Jockey Club to ward off underage gamblers. A hotline has also been set up for people to report underage betting.
Judge grants review of consent age for gay sex
A High Court judge has granted leave for a judicial review of the age of consent for homosexuals. William Roy Leung, 20, is seeking a declaration that laws criminalising homosexual acts for those under 21 are inconsistent with the Basic Law because they set a higher threshold than the minimum of 16 for heterosexuals and lesbians.
Woman found hanged
A 64-year-old woman in financial difficulties was found hanged in her Yuen Long home when a property agent took a potential buyer to inspect the flat.
