Fans of Chet Lam Yat-fung who were disappointed the singer-songwriter didn't win - and perhaps more importantly, didn't get a chance to perform - at the Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Chart Award can now cheer up.

CitySeen has just received word that the baby-faced Chet has been confirmed as the opening act for Grammy winner k.d. lang's Live in HK concert on February 2. Chet will be partnering with Elise Liao Jun-jia, from the singing quartet Life is Beautiful, at the concert at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. Although Chet is out of Hong Kong and unavailable for comment at the moment, a quick look through his online journal reveals the diligent singer has been doing his homework. Among the list of CDs he has been listening to is k.d. lang's Hymns of the 49th Parallel - a cover of the Canadian singer/songwriter's classics.
