Those of us who try to avoid eating aircraft food (unless we are able to turn to the left or upstairs when we board) will be sad to hear that Eating Plus in the IFC has closed. Popular with travellers before boarding the train to the airport, a steaming bowl of noodles usually sufficed to stave off their hunger pangs, at least on short-haul flights. The restaurant wasn't only popular with those who had to take a flight; it was always packed at lunchtime with workers in the area who enjoyed the reasonably priced meals and healthy drinks.

A spokeswoman for Eating Plus said the landlord didn't want to renew the lease, but hoped to reopen at another location in Central within a few months. In the meantime, if we want to avoid eating the awful 'chicken-or-fish' dinners that pass for food on flights, we'll just have to pack our own snacks.
