The success of many Disney animations owes a lot to their soundtracks. Classics like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King are still popular years after they first hit the cinemas - and after all this time, people still remember the scores.

If you haven't heard songs like Mickey Mouse March and Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah yet, chances are you are going to hear them soon, repeatedly, following the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland later this year. The release of Disney's Favourite Sing-Along - a compilation of 13 classic cartoon songs - is a timely commercial act to help us get into this spirit of animation.

Bedtime favourites such as It's A Small World, Winnie The Pooh and When You Wish Upon a Star are still likely to strike a chord with their simple but touching melodies and lyrics.

The three songs from The Lion King by Elton John and Tim Rice - I Just Can't Wait To Be King, Hakuna Matata and the Oscar-winning Can You Feel The Love Tonight - stand out. Their joyful tunes delight both children and adults.

Another partnership's tracks are also noteworthy. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's Be Our Guest, Under The Sea and Beauty and the Beast are sweetly romantic and fun.

Two more reasons to add this album to your CD rack despite its corny packaging: it costs only $68, and comes with six exclusive postcards.
