BRITAIN'S OT Africa Line is offering North American shippers a new service option to and from West and Central Africa.

By linking its own North Europe-West Africa shipping services with those of established north Atlantic carriers, it offers competitive rates and transit times for containerised cargo.

The company has appointed Hoegh Lines Agencies (HLA) as its US agent and the service is now being marketed strongly through its 26 offices in North America.

As further support, OTAL's European agents will for market this North American connection.

According to the line, substantial volumes of West African cargo are controlled in Europe, notably by the European offices of international trading houses, freight forwarders, multi-national manufacturers and construction companies.

OT Africa Line is one of the leading operators in the West African trade, operating two separate schedules, a four-vessel roll on-roll off container service from northern Europe to the Monrovia-Douala range and a two-ship container service to ports to the north in the Nouakchott to Conakry range This gives the company services to almost every port of the West African coast from Mauritania to Cameroon, plus the Canary Islands.
