Toddler and helper tied up by robber

A well-dressed robber escaped with $78,000 in cash and valuables from a luxury apartment in Tai Po after binding the hands of a domestic helper and her employer's two-year-old son.

The man, who wore a black suit and brandished what appeared to be a pistol, rushed into the unit in Constellation Cove, Hung Lam Drive, when the Filipino maid, 30, answered the door at 1.30pm.

After threatening the helper and binding her and the boy using adhesive tape, he shoved them into a bathroom.

The man fled with $4,000, five luxury watches, a diamond ring and a pair of earrings. The woman freed herself and called police.

Man held after taxi driver slashed, robbed

A taxi driver was slashed in the neck by a passenger and robbed in Tin Shui Wai. The taxi crashed into a lamp post after the injured driver, 52, jumped out of the vehicle in Tin Kwai Road outside Sherwood Court at 1.30am. The suspect fled the vehicle with a box containing about $200 in coins. A passer-by gave chase, ignoring the suspect's threat to kill himself. Police arrested a man, 25.

Women held over assault

Three Nepalese women were arrested on suspicion of assaulting three women in Wan Chai and robbing one of a mobile phone.
