Complaints about hotel schemes double in a year

The number of complaints relating to the sale of hotel memberships received by the Consumer Council almost doubled from 87 in 2003 to 161 last year.

Secretary for Economic Development and Labour Stephen Ip Shu-kwan told legislators the majority of the complaints were about salespeople who had not fully explained the terms and conditions of the schemes over the telephone.
