EVENING PARADE

The Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade will take place on Wednesday from 8pm to 9.30pm to welcome the Year of the Rooster.

This year's theme is Kaleidorama. The parade will feature local and international floats, dragon and lion dances, clowns and marching bands.

The parade will start from Tamar site in Admiralty and continue along Lung Wui Road, Fenwick Pier Street, Convention Avenue, Fleming Road, Harbour Road and back to Tamar.

Tickets for Tamar site spectator stands cost $200; free viewing along the parade route. For more information, call the Hong Kong Tourism Board on 2508 1234.

HISTORIC MATCH

Fifa 2002 World Cup champions Brazil will make a historic debut appearance in Hong Kong at the 2005 Carlsberg Cup. They will play a friendly match with the Hong Kong team to mark Chinese New Year.

Brazil is the only nation to have won five Fifa World Cups. The stellar lineup includes Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, who were Fifa World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2002 respectively, as well as Real Madrid's Roberto Carlos.

The match will take place on Wednesday at 5pm at Hong Kong Stadium. Tickets cost $1,500, $1,200, $800, $500 and $150 (students). For more information, call the Hong Kong Football Association on 2712 9122.
