Yip's Time Supreme can shine on jackpot meeting

In celebrating the Year of the Rooster the Jockey Club has delved into reserve to top up Friday's Sha Tin TT pool by $20 million, and it could prove profitable to stick with Dennis Yip Chor-hong's recent acquisition Time Supreme.

The progressive son of O'Reilly has impressed on all three starts, finishing fourth each time and twice over 1,400 metres.

The key bonus is the application of blinkers, which should sharpen him up.

Chosen One has been in excellent form, having won and hit the frame from his last two starts. He strikes similar opposition and must be added to the short list.

Present Treasure, who is drawn wide, proved he can be competitive in this grade when third to Picture Perfect and must be kept safe.

Plenty Of Heart impressed on his debut but that was in October, and while there is improvement to come, he couldn't be ruled out of hitting the frame. The booking of Douglas Whyte aboard Quick News is worth noting and he merits respect, along with Euphoric Kid, who has the bilnkers re-applied.

The opening leg looks highly competitive but Winning Power, who has a tremendous record over 1,400 metres, must be given the nod as a banker.

Both Fast Track and Summerville Power have impressed in their recent work and have solid claims. Gold Striker has been holding his form well and cannot be denied place claims while Green Century has had his share of problems but has class on his side.

The logical selection for banker in the final leg is consistent Watchman, who has hit the frame on seven of his last eight starts, including a win over 2,200 metres at Happy Valley last time. Happy Contender finished third to Watchman when they last met and he gets his chance to turn the tables, along with in-form Monza King.

Super Dana will relish the move back to the turf and can fill a minor place, while Deep Purple finished second to him last time and meets him far better in the weights.

The best option for banker in the third event is Top Brass, who impressed on his debut when third to subsequent winner Picture Perfect. He is a nice prospect and will be hard to beat.

Healthy displayed marked improvement on his latest outing and can hit the frame, along with Handbag Fortune, who has performed well down the straight course in the past.

Grandway Shuttle merits plenty of respect with the drop in grade, and following a sound performance over the same course and distance last time out.
