Biker killed at stop light

A van driver was arrested after a motorcyclist died in a crash in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday.

The accident happened at 2.50pm when two trucks and a motorcycle stopped for a red light in Kowloon Park Drive.

A van driven by a 24-year-old man reportedly rammed the motorcycle from behind, resulting in a chain collision.

The motorcyclist, 31, and the van driver were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where the motorcyclist was certified dead.

The van driver was arrested and released on bail of $3,000.

A man was knocked down on Peak Road by a car carrying legislator Bernard Chan. Mr Chan was on his way to a function on The Peak. He continued his journey by taxi while his chauffeur stayed to help with police inquiries. The man was taken to Queen Mary Hospital and discharged later.
