It had to happen. With the '70s, grunge and the environment enjoying their moments of glory, it was only a matter of time before patchwork made a comeback.

But this is not frugal reworking of leftover fabric - this is designer patchwork with prices to match. Moschino, Dolce e Gabbana and Lolita Lempicka are a few of the fashion dictators who have turned cheap into chic. Silhouettes are simple, but the fabricis textured, printed and often cleverly seamed. Recycling never looked so good.
