Hi-tech company in search of a top executive

Candidates with leadership skills and a good business sense might be tempted by this high-level vacancy.

One of the leading providers of consumer electronic products is seeking a vice-president - supply chain management.

Founded in 1977 and publicly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Integrated Display Technologies (IDT) enjoys global revenue of more than US$350 million.

The group designs, develops, manufactures and markets LCD-technology products for private-label buyers and its own globally recognised brand, Oregon Scientific.

The appointee would be required to 'develop and implement a logistics and supply chain management strategy across the group's companies,' said Daniel Li, executive vice-president of human resources, IDT.

Additional duties involve establishing policies, procedures and guidelines for the effective procurement of goods and services.

Job attractions include exposure to [IDT's] dynamic global business operations, from back end to front end, Mr Li said.

A bachelor's degree or above in supply chain management, logistics or an equivalent discipline is essential.

Other key requirements include at least 10 years' experience in supply chain functions, multi-location sales, and distribution or manufacturing operations in the electronics or a related industry.

Strong interpersonal skills are also vital.
